A supercell thunderstorm rocked metropolitan Denver with a tornado and large hail during the early afternoon of Wednesday 5 / 26.Â While no tornado damage report statements had been released at the time I’m filing this report, several reports of damage from theÂ large hail have surfaced:
- At 1:55pm local time, hail was reported to have caused extensive tree damageÂ in the Thornton and Denver International Airport vicinities of Adams County.
- Tennis ball and baseball size hail (2.75 inches in diameter) pounded an areaÂ just southeast ofÂ Brighton, Adams County around 1:51pm.
- Two tornado sightings occurred near Brighton and just west of Denver International Airport between 1:45 and 1:50pm.
- 2″ diameter hailstones damaged windows in Commerce City, Adams County at 1:33pm.
